đđ Linked Brittany moves closer to international research-data networks

A new step has been taken in the development of Linked Brittany, the project led by Bretaigne DAO to progressively reconnect historical sources relating to Brittany that are now dispersed across numerous European collections.
On 2 October, we officially presented the project to the secretariat of the Research Data Alliance (RDA) in order to identify the working groups and communities best suited to our approach.
Linked Brittany aims to progressively build links between:
people â places â institutions â events â historical sources â archival references â digital reproductions â persistent identifiers.
Our exchange focuses in particular on several issues that are essential to the next stages of the project: FAIR Digital Objects, metadata interoperability, provenance, persistent identifiers, cross-domain data integration, research data spaces, and documenting the use of artificial intelligence in scientific workflows.
We have also asked to be directed towards the most relevant Interest Groups and Working Groups for a project combining historical archives, digital cultural heritage, linked open data, persistent identifiers and digital humanities.
In the longer term, our goal is also to be able to present Linked Brittany to the RDA community once the data model and the first interconnected corpus are sufficiently advanced.
The archives we are locating today across several European countries should be reconnectable tomorrow within a shared, traceable and interoperable research environment.
